Summary of this DVD... | ||
This is one of those movies that I ordered on Netflix. When I got it, it said it was "noir" and I figured I would give it 30 minutes and ended up watching the whole thing because it was pretty good. It is the story of a 17 year old who is looking out for her sick mama and two younger siblings in the poverty of the Missouri Ozarks. Her father pledged their house in bail and is missing for his courtdate and the girl (Ree Dolly) sets about finding her dad and searching among her drug addicted slimy mountain relatives.

Jennifer Lawrence as Ree and John Hawkes as her uncle.

the gross violent parts.
This DVD made me feel...
like I'd watched a good story that I thought was going to suck, but it turned out to be interesting.
The cast of this DVD... | ||
is very talented. | ||
I recommend this DVD because...
it is a good story and I didn't think it was noir even though the container said it was. This sort of put me off, but I gave it a chance and it was good.
