Summary of this Book...
The book consists of 14 stories in all. Each story is a reflection of a chunk of reality seen in, and around the central character, Olive Kitteridge. Starting with Henry Kitteridge's life as a pharmacist and a householder, the author lets us glimpses into the lives of Olive's neighbors, son and daughters-in-law, and her own life as well spanning the rest of the stories.
This type of Book is good for...
All adults, men and women.
I especially liked... | ||
because often I could relate to Olive and her experiences regarding her son, her sensitivity.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
thank the author for making me aware of certain valuable things in life. For example, "...if love was available, one chose it, or didn't choose it.....she had not known what one should know: that day after day was unconsciously squandered."
This Book made me feel...
happy at the fact that I too am like Olive, an imperfect but sensitive mortal.
The author of this Book...
Elizabeth Strout. | ||
I recommend this Book because...
of its human value, its capacity to make us go for a soul search.
Further Comments... | ||
Setting and characters are impressively drawn. What attracts a reader to this book is its credibility, its depiction of reality, and the emotional and thinking facets of a normal human being.
