Summary of this Book...
This is about Lincoln's funeral train journey and the hunt for Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederacy after he fled from Richmond.

This writer is good at making history come alive.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who is interested in the aftermath of the Civil War. There are lots of interesting historical facts that I did not know.
I especially liked...
the paralells between Davis and Lincoln's lives - it is amazing how alike they were in experience.
I didn't like...
the way Mary Todd Lincoln was demonized. No one is that bad and she didn't kill anyone. She suffered too.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read more about the time period.
This Book made me feel...
like I know a lot more about Jefferson Davis and the south than I did before. I understand the time period a little better.
The author of this Book...
knows how to make history come alive and engage the reader.
I recommend this Book because...
it was an engaging and exciting bit of reading. I enjoyed it a lot.
