Summary of this DVD... | ||
It is 1881, and everyone in America knows the name Jesse James. He is an outlaw who is pursued by the authorities of almost every state; he has committed multiple robberies, and lays claim to 17 murders. Robert Ford is a name that nobody knows. But the 19 year-old's hunger for everyone to and the complete idolatry of Jesse James drives him to slowly incorporate himself into the James-Younger gang. Just as soon as trust begins to present Ford as a confidante to Jesse, Ford's fishy demeanor and outright obsession stretch their relationship to it's limits.
This type of DVD is good for...
Everyone. Period. | ||
I especially liked... | ||
the cinematography. One of the finest examples of how important cinematography is to a film.
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
watch it again. And I did.
The cast of this DVD... | ||
is impeccable. Both Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck were rewarded for their dynamic performances as Jesse James and Robert Ford, respectively. But the standouts were definitely Jeremy Renner as Wood Hite, and Paul Schneider as Dick Liddil.
I recommend this DVD because...
of it's sheer genius. Everything about it is intricately stunning, complex and timeless. It is, in my opinion, one of the greatest moves of the decade and should not be passed up.
Further Comments... | ||
A scene not to be missed is the Blue Cut train robbery sequence. Without a doubt, one of the best scenes ever shot in the history of film. Also, the last ten minutes are cinematic gold. The haunting subtly of the final monologue will surely stick with you, and you will find yourself reciting it in your head days after hearing it for the first time.
