Summary of this DVD... | ||
This is Ken Burns' PBS Documentary about World War II. I watched it over a week's time - it is 15 hours or so in length. He focuses on four towns in Ca., Ct., Al., and Mn. and interviews survivors of the time.
This type of DVD is good for...
anyone who wants to learn about all the battles in World War II.
I especially liked... | ||
the part about The Battle of the Bulge since my dad fought in it. IZt made me sad that I never asked him about it or knew enough about it to ask questions.
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
look at pictures of my dad from that time in 1945.
This DVD made me feel...
like I missed my dad and wished I could talk to him.
I recommend this DVD because...
it is an outstanding history lesson. Ken Burns films that I've seen have all been outstanding and I have learned more from them than I ever did in public school.
Further Comments... | ||
The music is brilliant and I found these to be very relaxing. During the first DVD (there are six) I actually snoozed during part of Guadacanal and Midway. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the War that was way before I was born.
