This is very dark holiday music. This is not the joyous Christmas CD. It is dark with songs about murders and such. It is for adults who have decidedly mixed feelings about the holidays.

like I wanted to go back to Ireland at Christmas time and hear the music there again. This is a reminder of many lovely times in Ireland.

are the Cheiftans and friends. I had the once in a lifetime experience of hearing Matt Malloy (a Chieftan) playing the flute at his own pub in Westport, County Mayo. This reminds me of that time and the music I heard at Christmas time in Ireland.

it is comforting to me. I listen to this along with the Coors music a lot all year long and especially at Christmas time.

As I rode to my mother's graveside service, I listened to this CD. It will always be very special to me.

I have mixed feelings about the Christmas/New Year's holidays because my parents both died around this time. My father dropped dead suddenly on December 30th and my mother died on Thanksgiving morning ten years after my dad.

The holidays remind me of a lot of loss and this CD has helped me at times to remember I am not the only one who views the holidays in a fragile way.
