Carrie Newcomer is someone I would characterize as a folk singer. Her voice is very similar in tone to Mary Chapin Carpenter. She writes her own music and sounds even better in person than she does on CD, which is a rarity these days.

is a great talent as a singer. Her voice has a lovely tone to it that is similar to a lot of Irish singers I have heard. I was lucky enough to hear her in person.

I also liked the clever children's classic, "A Crash of Rhinoceros". If you get a chance to see her in person, I would recommend her highly. What a talent and she is a funny storyteller as well.
