Summary of this Book...
"Lee Ross always knew she was not entirely human. But when the man who has plagued her dreams her entire life appears in the flesh, can she give up everything she knows to follow him to another realm?" ~ From Amazon. Lee has been having reoccurring dreams of another world ever since she was a child, but she never seems to be able to remember much about them when she wakes up. However, she knows something strange is going on; every time she has one of these dreams, she wakes up covered in injuries. There is also a man... someone who seems familiar, who shows up in these dreams and is always by her side. Who is he, and what is the reason for these strange "dreams"?
This type of Book is good for...
It's a great, short book for those of you who don't have time. You can leave off on it and pick it back up rather easily. There is also very little that may surprise you, so for those of you who do not like surprises... go for this!
I especially liked... | ||
I liked the overall WORLD in this novel. It sounds magnificent and enchanting in the beginning. There was so much I wanted to learn about it. The side characters are also rather intriguing... but not enough is said about them.
I didn't like... | ||
I didn't like the fact that the world wasn't fleshed out enough. It felt as if the author rushed through to complete the novel. She left out areas which were rather important. "Mysteries" were much too obvious, and I could already guess what was going to happen before I'd even reached the half way point. The MAIN thing I really did not like about this book, was the main character. This is very important, since you're stuck with her mainly... so you should like her. However, the first guy she meets she jumps on, even when she doesn't remember him. She doesn't even question having relations with him. Throughout the book, she ceases to grow, even when there are instances that should have changed her. You see very little about the world and her interaction in it. Though it seems this was supposed to be a sci-fi, fantasy, and action filled romance, it was nothing of the kind. The main focus was on romance, which was rushed.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
I wanted to question why I'd read the book in the first place. However, the book does have its good points, so I concluded that it WAS worth the read. There are some very intriguing ideas in this book, which could have been fleshed out more.
This Book made me feel...
I felt a little angry about the book, but also excited about the ideas and world that it was built around. The "romance" ticked me off, but the world made up for it a bit.
The author of this Book...
Shiloh Walker is the author, however, I admit I do not know much about their other works.
I recommend this Book because...
The only reason I'd recommend the book, is for the ideas it contains in itself. It has some very intriguing concepts.
I don't recommend this Book because...
I'd not recommend this book for many reasons... including the poor romance, the lack of imagery, and the overall dullness in character interaction (with anything).
Further Comments... | ||
This is good for those looking for unique ideas, or an intriguing world. However, you will be sorely disappointed in the writing itself, as well as the main characters. There is hardly any action, lots of romance (but... mainly just sex), and the end is obvious. Don't read this unless you're just looking to find some unique ideas.
