Summary of this Book...
This book is the journey of a girl struggling to control the magic that now lives in her, and figure out what to do with it. You will walk with her and watch her make the wrong choices, trust the wrong people and lose herself in her own desires. But in the end- with the help of true friends, and the strength of true love- she will learn about herself and learn that she can't control everything on her own.
This type of Book is good for...
Those who love a twisting plot, mystery, and a little romance thrown in!
I especially liked...
Kartik! He was my favorite, and I almost cried when I found out what happened to him.
I didn't like...
The book was a little too long and I felt like quite a few of the scenes were unnecessary. Libba drags you on inch by inch until you're begging for more. She then finally throws you into the action!
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Come write a review because I really enjoyed it!
This Book made me feel...
Sad and happy. It was a really strong read.
The author of this Book...
Libba Bray. Very talented author.
I recommend this Book because...
It's exciting, and disturbing. Sad and uplifting. Romantic and scary. There are so many different elements that you'll surely find one that captures you.
I don't recommend this Book because...
It is very long and at times confusing if you're not paying close attention.
Further Comments...
I loved the Gemma Doyle Trilogy and can't wait to read more of Libba Bray's work. This book (and the other two in the series) captures and delivers. There are horrors that are simply fictional and others that are far too real. Gemma is a strong heroine and you'll feel for her as you follow her on a quest to do what's right, and find herself along the way. When you turn the last page you'll feel the bitter sweet happiness of knowing life is hard and freedom is dear, but they're both worth fighting for.
