A tired rehashing of Saw III and Saw IV, with an even weaker plot. Jigsaw, the notorious serial killer, is dead. But, in this installment, we learn how and who is carrying out his grisly legacy. Through a series of confusing flashbacks, viewers learn that Detective Hoffman crossed the line and imitated Jigsaw, only to be caught and "reformed" by the notorious mastermind.

After this life-altering experience, Hoffman sold out his own team and is blackmailed into becoming the "new" Jigsaw. The catch? Agent Straum, escaped this trap and is now hot on Hoffman's heels.

What follows is a deadly game of cat and mouse, while we also follow the fate of Jigsaw's newest victims.

Collecting dust. It's not something I would watch again.

The end. That did contain a nice twist.

The execution and presentation of the entire film was sloppy. The flashback were conducted in sequences that made no sense and often had me scrambling to catch up. This version did not hold the intensity and punch that the first three did.

Kick myself for spending the money to buy it.

Frustrated and disappointed in what had been a good franchise in the beginning.

Tried their best with the poor material they were given to work with.

If you are a die-hard fan of Saw or gore, you might like it.

It was awful. If you must see it, spend the buck to rent it from the Redbox, rather than thirty to buy it. Better yet, I'll send you my copy.

I guess this means I won't be watching Saw VI.
