A Tim Burton film, Johnny Depp stars in this adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's award-winning musical thriller "Sweeney Todd." Depp is the main character, a man who was wrongly accused of a ghastly crime and sent to prison. After years of seething in prison, he gets out and vows revenge. This revenge is not only for the unjust imprisonment, but for the loss of his wife and daughter, and how they were treated by those who knew of his "crime". After he returns to his former home, he reopens his barber shop disguised as "Sweeney Todd". He became known as the "Demon Barber of Fleet Street" who "shaved the heads of gentlemen who never thereafter were heard from again." Ever since his return, there's been a ghastly smell coming from his barber shop, which is located on top of a meat pie restaurant. Whatever could the smell be?

Great for all lovers of mystery, gothic, horror, and dark humor.

The dark humor. Also, the singing is great, as is the story, in a macabre way.

Cry. It had a somewhat tragic, yet ironic, ending. Very nice twist.

A bit grossed out, but I was very entertained.

Are all very talented and awesome. I've always been a fan of Johnny Depp, and I was not let down by his acting in this film. Surprisingly, he has a good singing voice.

It's great for horror or "dark" lovers. (Not to mention Johnny Depp fans). As far as musicals go, this one takes the cake.
