Summary of this Book...
the thick of this Pulitzer-prize winning book is about unconditional love. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, this story is about a father who has been hardened by the gritty realities of the forever-broken world. The only thing that keeps him moving is the love he feels for his son, who represents the last remaining innocense the world has left to offer. This is the first book I struggled to finish, not because it was bad but because I felt so incredibly connected to it on an emotional level. I was placed in the shoes of this man and personally experienced every single emotional horror described. Most might question why anyone would want to read a book as devasting as this one. My answer is you read it because the writing is absolutely phenomenal. And you read it, because beneath it all, it's a story about the strength of the human spirit.
This type of Book is good for...
People who want to not only read a story, but experience it. Warning: It is definitely not for the faint of heart. If you are a parent, you will walk away from it forever affected.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Cry! Not want to, I did! | ||
The author of this Book...
I love this author, because his writing is so graceful and seemingly simplistic. He doesn't bother with punctuation, because he knows he doesn't need to. His style of writing represents him well; quiet, unassuming, stoic with a surprising sense of heart.
