Summary of this Book...
Jacqueline Carey weaves an alternative medieval universe. Her main character Phedre is a courtesan and spy who works for her master Anafiel Delauney to discover who is scheming for the throne of Terre D'Ange.
This type of Book is good for...
People who love epic fantasy...and/or kinky romance novels.
I especially liked... | ||
The mythology and legend that Carey has created behind her world of Terre D'Ange is truly unique. She weaved legend and belief deftly into the story itself. I wished I could have heard more of that.
I didn't like... | ||
I didn't really like the main character, and with first-person narration 901 pages is a long time to stick with someone you just don't really like. I'm all for fantasy epics, but this book felt way too long.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Take a break from fantasy for a while. Two-thirds in I wasn't interested in reading any of the other books in the series, but the final battle scenes made me think twice.
