Summary of this Book...
17 year old Kate is the main character of this page turning mystery book (part of the "Dark Secret" series). Kate had just moved back to her old hometown, after having left there twelve years ago, because of the drowning of Ashely Westbrook, Kate's playmate. She returned to the Westbrook estate in order to tutor Ashley's brother, seven year old Patrick. Kate believes something is wrong with Patrick, because he tends to do strange things, always saying that Ashley had dared him to.

Kate later meets Sam, who further complicates things. He tells her to leave Westbrook. What will she do?
This type of Book is good for...
This book is another great, light read. It's also a great idea for a gift.
I especially liked...
I especially enjoyed the mystery to this novel. I wanted to find out what was wrong with Patrick, and why Sam wanted Kate to leave. There was a bit of romance, though, perhaps not as much as the earlier books.
I didn't like...
I didn't like that there was much less supernatural forces in this book. There were some, but it wasn't a huge factor, like it was in earlier books.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
When I finished reading this book, it made me want to re-read the first book in the series: "Don't Tell", which is my favorite next to "Legacy of Lies". A little of the magic seemed to have been lost, next to those two. Or, perhaps, maybe the first two were just exceptionally good, while this one was just "good" at best.
This Book made me feel...
The book made me feel a little let down. I'd expected a little more in the super natural department, which I didn't get. However, this does not mean the book isn't a good read (because it IS a good read, just not quite as good as the first two).
The author of this Book...
Chandler is an exceptional writer. She knows her stuff and can definitely produce a nice, tense, and suspenseful mystery/supernatural book. However, I feel she ran out of steam a bit with this one.
I recommend this Book because...
I recommend the book because it is, in fact, a good read. Perhaps not the best, but a good read nevertheless.
