Summary of this Book...
The first book in the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series. Anita Blake is still learning the ropes in the supernatural world, but she's also acquired a reputation; she's known as the Executioner by all vampires.

Anita Blake lives in St. Louis, Missouri, in a world where magic, vampires, werewolves, and the like are "out of the closet" and, in some cases, even legal. Anita is an necromancer, with the ability to raise the dead.

In Guilty Pleasures, Anita is blackmailed by Nikolaos, the vampire master of the city, into investigating a series of vampire murders. She will have to join forces with the vampires, while keeping them at a distance at the same time. Can she discover the killer, while keeping her life (and her blood) safe?
This type of Book is good for...
Those who love mystery will LOVE this book. It's great for a nice, cozy read by the fire at night. We've got zombies, vampires, and serial killers, what more could you ask for?
I especially liked...
What I really liked about this first book is the mystery. It was packed with it. Who was the killer? Would they find him? Those were some of the constant questions running around in my mind. I also liked the hint of romance. There was no outright physical romance, but there was a lot hinted romance going on. It's more tame than the other books, something of which I am grateful for. Horror lovers will also enjoy this book.
I didn't like...
There was absolutely nothing I did not like about this book. Everything was great.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
I wanted to read more, simply put. I'd actually picked the book up by accident at the library, and ever since I've been hooked. This is by far one of the best books (dealing with vampires) that I have ever read.
This Book made me feel...
Woozy! I felt absolutely woozy after reading this. So much was going on, so much gore, mystery, horror... with a hint of romance. It was a lot to take in, but I was happy I'd picked the book up.
The author of this Book...
Is excellent. She knows her stuff and her readers. She slips a little as the series goes on, but you can't go wrong with the first five or six books. (Maybe more!)
I recommend this Book because...
It's excellent. Truly a masterpiece. It'll be hard to catch your breath by the end, but all that fast paced reading will have paid off. It's got everything an avid reader (and writer!) will enjoy.
Further Comments...
Again, if you enjoy the supernatural, horror, mystery, romance... any of that, then you will love this book. Try it, roll it around on your tongue, swallow, and enjoy it. It's definitely good "eating".
