Summary of this Book...
Io is an adopted faerie girl, a blue faerie in a family of greens. She is also the youngest, and though clear headed, she is considered the least of all her siblings. Watching her family's moral attitude toward their giant human, elf, and dwarf hosts deteriorate, she decides to act, to alert her Queen Mother Eowen before it is too late. Unfortunately, it already is. Gorusio, an imp with terrible designs, has it out for the giants and plans to use Io's family as soldiers in his insidious army of mana vampyres. With the advice and encouragement of a mysterious elf maiden, Io must stand against Gorusio and her own sisters, or all of the city of Appechel is doomed.
This type of Book is good for...
This book would make a good read for anyone male or female, but especially for girls between the ages of 12 and 90.
I especially liked... | ||
This book is empowering, especially for women, but truly for anyone who has ever felt like they were the small and unwanted, the last pick so-to-speak. Io's adventure, while fantastic and magical, has a realness that most fantasy lacks, a serious edge that is integral to its relativity to actual life.
I didn't like... | ||
It's shortness. Wish it was longer, that the story went into more detail about Io's life, and that of the world of Volcolia in which it is set. Wait for the next story to come out.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
This book is one to keep or pass on to others. It is about not losing hope in a bleak environment, so it's subject matter will continue to be relevant until we achieve a perfect world.
This Book made me feel...
This is a bit of a sad, dark tale, but made me want to act in a courageous manner whenever tough times are about.
The author of this Book...
I am the author. I enjoyed writing about Io, and I know you'll enjoy this adventure with her.
I recommend this Book because...
It is a good read, bound to become a timeless classic. 8% of all retail sales will go to Common Ground Relief, a charity organization helping to rebuild New Orleans and other storm ravages regions.
I don't recommend this Book because...
I can't recommend this book if you are the kind of person who only wants the typical Dungeons and Dragons style fantasy with perfect, unrealistic endings, cookie cutter warriors with rippling bare chests, desperate, man-hungry heroines, and monsters that do nothing but loot and murder.
