Rehearsal assembles an ensemble cast to tell the story of a rock band, Raucous, that comes of age in the 1970's. The main plot focuses on the relationship between Evan, Susie, and Duncan. Ultimately, Susie pursues a relationship with Duncan, leaving Evan, her childhood friend, to wonder where he fits into her life. There are various subplots involving Kate and Mike, and the band's adventures on the road as an opening act for an established band.

This is a good literary read.

The character of Kate. To me, she was the most "real," dealing with problems and struggles that I could relate to.

The book was a little slow paced for me.

read the sequel. The characterization is top-notch and by the end of the novel I felt like they had become good friends.

has a port on WDC and can be found on MySpace. She has a passion for book, music, and art which shines through in her writing.

It's a great book that takes a realistic look at relationships, problems, and how different people tackle them.

I enjoyed reading the book, but for me, it was a long read. Partly because I'm very busy in real life, and partly because the book slowed down at times. Be prepared to curl up with it over the course of several weekends. You'll want to keep reading.
