If you're anything like me - if you're passionate about politics, if you see the romanticism in political campaigns and great presidential orators, if you watch political wars like one might watch the World Series or the Super Bowl - then this book is definately for you. The much more likely scenario, that is, if politics has never sparked your attention or flamed your enthusiasm, then is book is still for you. You'll get a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes aspect of politics which, although I might be a bit bias, is truly fascinating.

The credibility that Mr. Matthews has. He dived into politics at an early age and has been engulfed in the workings of presidential campaigns and battles on Capitol Hill for decades. His book combines tried-and-true laws of politics, with his own experiences and lessons-learned from watching the game.

Run for president! Literally. I was set and ready for about 20 minutes. My slogan was going to be... "Experience? LIFE is a campaign."

Like someone out there UNDERSTANDS the pure delight and ecstacy I get from watching the intricacies of the political arena unfold. :)

Mr. Matthews does an excellent job of taking the lessons of the great [and not so great] politicians and showing his audience, people from all walks of life, how to take and apply what the world of politics has to teach. I've given this book to friends of mine who, a reflection of my utter failure, don't appreicate the absolute beauty of politics. Not just government, but politics. For those who don't understand how politics plays a part in perhaps the most random of places, read this book.
