Summary of this Book...
Sita is old – very old, yet her body is no more that barely twenty. She is the last vampire in the world, saved by a promise made to Lord Krishna. She leads a secretive life until she is called into a detective’s office and made aware that she is under investigation. Panicked, she makes a rash decision and kills the detective, and in a moment of compassion, she makes a promise to look after his son, Ray Reily. Sita falls in love with Ray as she begins her search to find who is after her. Her seeker is none other than Yakasha, the first vampire whom Sita believed to have been dead. Yakasha is bent on keeping his own promise to Krishna – to vanquish all vampires. To Sita, this is a problem. She would very much like to stay alive – but how can she stop the most powerful vampire in the world from taking his life and her own?
This type of Book is good for...
Any fantasy or vampire-themed writing lover. I'm not and never was a big vampire fan, but this book is deliciously gorey and wholly action packed.
I especially liked... | ||
Sita's nonchalance and way of thinking.
I didn't like... | ||
Some of the metaphor Pike uses with reference to Sita's relationship to Krishna tends to get in the way without adding much to the plot.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Buy the next one in the series!
I recommend this Book because...
It is a quick read full of action, adventure, sci-fi fun, and great detail. Pike makes his characters come to life in a very dramatic way.
