Summary of this CDs & Vinyl...
In Strict Confidence is a German industrial/electro band not too well known in the States. Holy is their 2004 release, and marks a change in their music. Vocalist Dennis Ostermann's vocals are less distorted, and a few of the songs are quite melodic. Ostermann is joined by female vocalists on several songs, which greatly enhances the overall enjoyment of this disc.
This type of CDs & Vinyl is good for...
This music is a great way to step out of your musical comfort zone and try something new. Most folks haven't ever heard industrial/electro music, as it is a mostly underground genre, especially in small towns.
I especially liked... | ||
Stand out songs are "Closing Eyes", a duet, "Seven Lives", and "Emergency", sung by Antje Schulz, now a permanent member of the group.
I didn't like... | ||
I don't much care for the artwork included with the CD. The cover sports a topless nun, and the theme is explored even more inside the booklet. I would have to guess that bad experiences with the Catholic religion are behind it.
When I finished n/a this CDs & Vinyl I wanted to...
...listen to it again. It's that good.
The n/a of this CDs & Vinyl...
In Strict Confidence have been making music since the early nineties, but it wasn't until this album and their most recent, Exile Paradise, that they've gained a large following.
I recommend this CDs & Vinyl because...
I think it's good to branch out and try new things, music included. I know I'm glad I happened on their MySpace page.
I don't recommend this CDs & Vinyl because...
If you are easily offended, then it might be a good idea to skip this particular album, although this band seems to thrive on pushing the envelope with artwork and even lyrics.
