Summary of this DVD... | ||
Jack Black plays a devoted but failing musician who poses as a substitute teacher and teaches his class how to rock and roll. Comedy with some dramatic touches and lots of rock music.
This type of DVD is good for...
Kids 10 and up, despite the PG-13 rating. Also adults who love rock.
I especially liked... | ||
The rapport Black developed with the kids, his concern for their well-being, and their growth towards him and each other as a result of having him for a teacher.
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
Crank up some rock and roll!
This DVD made me feel...
Happy, energetic, warm.
The cast of this DVD... | ||
Jack Black, Joan Cusack, Mike White, Sarah Silverman and many talented musician/actor kids.
I recommend this DVD because...
It really teaches a lot about values and shines with its love for its subject.
Further Comments... | ||
The PG-13 rating is due to a few off-color words, a reference to "groupies" [without saying what they do] and some marijuana use. These last two are only present to show that Black does not approve of either one, and tells the children this quite strongly. Therefore, I would recommend it for family discussion.
