Summary of this Book...
A compilation of Jazz music greats from the past five decades can be found in this excellent CD. Featuring artists like Nina Simone and Billy Holliday, to Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. Some of the songs featured are tunes that we've heard over the years and continue to be timeless as time goes by.
This type of Book is good for...

I especially liked...
Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong - 'Summertime' (#3), Benny Goodman - 'Sing, Sing, Sing' (#11), Dave Brubeck - 'Take Five' (#14), Louis Armstrong - 'What a Wonderful World' (#18)
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Listen to it all over again and get even more Jazz CDs
This Book made me feel...
Good inside - brought me closer to the music of the past and made me feel like I was taken back to a golden era.
The author of this Book...
Nina Simone, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Dave Brubeck, Count Basie, Glen Miller and his Orchestra, Sarah Vaughn, Chet Baker, Miles Davies, Stan Getz & Joao Gilberto featuring Astrud Giberto, Dinah Washington, Nat King Cole, Diana Krall, Oscar Peterson, Etta James
I recommend this Book because...
It's a classic and a good collection of American music that defines several generations.
Further Comments...
I actually bought this CD because of a book I noticed in the library called 'Jazz - a History of American Music'. My interest was piqued even more after watching a documentary on TV, and the more I learned about these artists, the more I wanted to learn about them. Digitally remastered, you get to hear some of the classics, especially a rare Berlin concert performance from the great Ella Fitzgerald with the tune 'Mack the Knife'. This is definitely a must get for any music fan with a love and penchant for history.
