This is one of the best biographies I have ever read, about one of my favorite authors: C.S. Lewis.
What makes this bio special is the fact that it was written by a student and friend of Lewis, and as such, gives the reader an intimate and credible account of Lewis' writings, character, and accomplishments.
Drawn from journals, personal experiences, and letters, we learn about the experiences that made him the man he was. We also gain a deeper appreciation for the reasons why Lewis devoted his life to a better understanding of Christianity, an understanding that he labored to share with his readers, young and old.
He wasn't perfect- no one is- but he showed the world what God wants us to understand- that we are His children, that life has meaning, and that man is that he might have joy. It is up to us to seek it out.
