Summary of this Book...
A classic sword-and-sorcery tale set in the harsh but fascinating world of J. V. Jones. A prophecy of a man with tremendous powers sends the knight Tawl on a quest to find him. The evil Lord Baralis schemes to ensure his bloodline will succeed to the throne, no matter who has to die in the process. The rambunctious Lady Melliandra rebels against her ambitious father. And deep inside the castle, a baker's apprentice is frightened by his magical abilities.
This type of Book is good for...
Fans of fantasy who want a little more depth in their characters.
I especially liked...
The sympathy I felt for the protagonists, you really want them to succeed. I also liked the lascivious settings and characters, it made for a more gritty prose.
I didn't like...
The sparse use of magic.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Find the other two volumes.
The author of this Book...
Is one of my many inspirations in writing.
I recommend this Book because...
It's a good read, as are the other two books in this series.
