Summary of this Book...
Onizuka Ekichi is the final man (after a rather bloody battle with his rivals) standing in the quest to date Kaoru, the beautiful blond girl who has a little secret that she's about to disclose to a clueless Ekichi. *Laugh* Meanwhile Ryuji still has the hots for the young teacher Ayumi. Unfortunately, Ayumi's painful past comes up to haunt the boys of Oni-Baku. A life and death battle ensues between Oni-Baku and a new gang led by Ayumi's ex-boyfriend's brother. Will Ekichi and Ryuji be able to survive this time around?
This type of Book is good for...
Fans of GTO and especially Onizuka and Ryuji!
I especially liked...
The backstory regarding Kaoru and her hilarious obsession with being...well who she is. The moments between she and Ekichi are the only real comical relief in this story. I also liked the end when we see just how strong Ryuji and Ekichi's friendship really is.
I didn't like...
I can't say excess violence, since that's what makes GTO and Shonan Junai Gumi so unique. However, I felt the Ayumi storyline was a bit too drawn out and she's not my favorite character to say the least. Although one does have to feel sorry for her plight.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read the next! I can't wait for the Fourth Volume to come out and I'm eager to know if Ryuji and Ayumi do last as long as they hope to be.
This Book made me feel...
Excited and pleased with the storyline. Let's not forget totally and completely hilarious in some places.
The author of this Book...
Is the mangaka Toru Fujisawa, whose hard hitting and rather graphic take on the life of Ekichi makes him such a popular graphic artist amongst young men. Blood, guts and glory, and let's not forget beautiful babes, what more could a guy want? *Wink*
I recommend this Book because...
It's the latest installment in the most chaotic and fascinating life of these two best friends. It's a testament to a bond that is much deeper than any of us can comprehend and the selfless nature of these two young men who will do anything for the ones they care about.
Further Comments...
Overall, I had to purchase this book and keep it in my collection. It's not nearly as exciting as the first, or second, but I'm sure the next installment will be even better. A must read for Onizuka fans! *Bigsmile*
