Summary of this DVD... | ||
A futuristic dystopian society completely run by the government and people are held under control by the use of drugs. One man finds love and attempts to escape this harsh world in search of freedom. George Lucas' directorial debut, and produced by Francis Ford Coppola.
This type of DVD is good for...
Those interested in abstract science fiction or films in general that don't follow all the pop culture rules. Those who want to see a movie that will make them think.
I especially liked... | ||
The fact that it didn't try to be a movie from our time about the future, it tried to be a movie from the future about the future. It was meant for those who are yet to come.
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
watch it again, and think about the topics brought up.
This DVD made me feel...
entertained and a little scared at what may become of the future.
The cast of this DVD... | ||
Is amazing. Robert Duval plays THX-1138 superbly well, and the rest of the cast, although not quite as famouse, is still excellent.
I recommend this DVD because...
It is an amazing, thought-provoking film that breaks a lot of barriers. This particular DVD version has basically all the bonus features you will ever need as a hard-core fan of this mind-blowing movie.
Further Comments... | ||
Keep an open mind. It's not Star Wars, but it's not Blade Runner either. It is its own brand of science fiction that has never been duplicated. A mixture of cyberpunk, drama, and an obvious George Lucas touch of genious, that all together makes for a movie you'll never forget. (note: does contain some sexual content, not extremely graphic, but still something you should be aware of.)
