Summary of this Book...
What happens if everyone in the world was made into a zombie by a cellphone pulse, all at the same time? Clayton Riddell is unfortunately forced to find out. As he stands in line on a sunny day in Boston, waiting to get an ice cream cone from an ice cream truck, people in front of him are talking on their cellphones, and then suddenly--all hell breaks loose.

Will Clayton survive? What about his family, who he desperately tries to return to in Maine? What about the other few people who were NOT on cellphones at the time of the Pulse (the "Normies)?
This type of Book is good for...
People who enjoy horror will like this book, as will Stephen King fans. The Raggedy Man makes an appearance.
I especially liked...
how King took a simple premise and was able to string me along suspensefully for 400-odd pages. I was afraid this book would just be something silly and clichéd, but it wasn't.
I didn't like...
that maybe it was a bit too predictable. If you've read Stephen King, you kind of know what is most likely going to happen. I also didn't like that the reader never really knows why the Pulse occurred.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read it again. I think that there was more going on in the subtext than what I got on a quick read-through. (However, I checked it out through interlibrary loan, so I probably won't reread it.) *Smile*
This Book made me feel...
somewhat unnerved. What would life be like if absolutely everything shut down in a span of a few hours? Anarchy, the obvious answer in this book.
The author of this Book...
is Stephen King, a prolific horror author. This book is his latest effort, published in January 2006.
I recommend this Book because...
I think that people who like King will like it, as well as people who like dystopian futures, or apocalyptic horror. If you don't like blood and guts and/or gory descriptions of eyeballs popping out, DON'T READ THIS BOOK.
Further Comments...
This book was a fairly quick read (384 pages). I read it in four hours, mostly because I wanted to see how the situation would be resolved. Would Clayton find his son? Would his son be safe or had he listened to the hideous pulse and been changed?

Read the book and find out.
