Summary of this CDs & Vinyl...
Right from the beginning, Afrodisiac is a tell-all expose about Brandy's turbulant personal life of the past few years. She lays it all on the table with chilled out tracks like "About Brandy(Intro)" and "Cool(Thought I'd Be)" ; 90's-esque "Turn It Up" ; and songs you can dance to and cry to simultaneously like the title track "Afrodisiac" and "Focus". There aren't any "album fillers" on this CD at all, like Brandy says on "Turn It Up". All the tracks on this album could have been excellent singles, which makes it all the more disappointing that this album didn't make so much as a splash so much as a whimper on the charts.
This type of CDs & Vinyl is good for...
Anyone who remembers the chilled out hits produced by Timbaland and Missy.
I especially liked... | ||
The way every song has it's own personal story that comes(seemingly) straight from Brandy herself. It's almost like hearing a diary. She addresses everyone, from her fans and friends, to her past and present love interests. It's a solid R&B album without being bogged down with ballads.
This CDs & Vinyl made me feel...
Chilled out or energetic depending on the track.
The n/a of this CDs & Vinyl...
Is definitely alive and kicking! She just needs better publicity to remind everyone else.
I recommend this CDs & Vinyl because...
This is great "grownup" music from an R&B "vet" who knows waht she's doing. No teenyboppers here. Brandy is all grown up!
