The plot has promise as it moves along however I felt that there were some inconsistencies that didn't harmonize with the plot line. The conclusion needed to be drawn out more however it did seem to linger on too much to begin with. The novel is very full of paradoxes and twists which help keep the plot from becoming predictable. The story has a subtle interplay of old gods and new gods, and his interpretation of the new gods of American culture was quite interesting as well as his treatment of old gods adapting to a new world. The various divergences from the main story line are all interesting and well written. The connection to Odin and the tree was a delight to read. The story is very full of paradoxes and twists to the plotline. If you don't like mythology you will get lost reading this book. | ||
