Summary of this Book...
A hapless bloke called Arthur goes on a hair raising misadventure through space. I'm not giving away any more. It's a sci-fi comedy based on a BBC radio series. Read it before seeing the movie.
This type of Book is good for...
Reading. More specifically, it's good for both a laugh and some brain bending thought. It concerns amongst other things, the meaning of life and the true nature of Earth and the human race.
I especially liked... | ||
Marvin the paranoid android; a machine with a defective personality chip, and one of the all time great deadpan humour characters.
I didn't like... | ||
It doesn't end so much as lead into the next book. Quite possibly, this is due to it being adapted from a radip serial.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read the next book, for the above mentioned reason. I also wished I could figure out what '42' really signified.
This Book made me feel...
Exhillerated. It took my brain to new and wonderful places.
The author of this Book...
Douglas Adams | ||
I recommend this Book because...
It's rare to find a comedy with such depth.
Further Comments... | ||
The first of a series of five novels, although the first two form an obvious pair. Um. "What number am I thinking of, maybe?"
