Although the back of this book talks about Mal taking on two passengers, this actually takes place after the series Firefly is finished. It goes back in time somewhat and shows the reader how Simon frees River. It also gives a clearer picture of Mal and Zoe's last days as part of the Independent Army. Then it continues forward in time and reveals the secret of the Reavers and "Miranda".

Entertainment and expanding your love of Firefly and the new movie Serenity.

The fact that most of the dialogue was taken word for word from the movie. I have never seen a movie novelization that sticks that closely to the dialogue. I got the book the day after I had seen the movie and I could actually pick out word for word the lines from the movie.

The scene where River fights in the bar. I was hoping for a little more action in that scene. I was also hoping they would describe the Reaver fight more but they wrote that scene just like in the movie.

I really wanted to go see the movie again. I haven't ever read a book that didn't add things to the movie but this one stuck very very close to the movie and I don't recall any added scenes.

That I hadn't missed anything with seeing the movie first.

Definately had a copy of the script. He did a really good job describing the Serenity Universe.

It stayed so close to the movie. It really was a companion to the movie and not an addendum.

Honestly I can't think of any reason not to read this book. Unless you don't like Firefly or SciFi.

I loved this book! Definately can't wait to go see the movie again and buy it when it comes out on DVD.
