Summary of this Book...
Dr Rat is an insane singing laboratory rat that leads the other lab animals in the drudgery of experimental life. He's crude, he's surly, and he's absolutely missing all his marbles. He shows you his point of view when the lab animals escape and animals around the world revolt against humanity.
This type of Book is good for...
rat lovers, antivivisectionists, and people with a somewhat wonky sense of humor.
I especially liked... | ||
how rat-like Dr Rat really was. He was the embodiment of so many of my past pets (rats) in his nature and behavior it was delightful. I also sheepishly admit I like some of his crude/lewd sing alongs.
I didn't like... | ||
how the story branched out from just the lab to the entire planet. It didn't mesh very well. Over all the book is pretty flippant. Though it's graphic and shows its point (antivivisection) it lacks a lot too.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
go give my current rats treats and scritches.
This Book made me feel...
repulsed by what humans can do without conscience to animals 'in the name of science.'
I recommend this Book because...
it's a quick read and will please ratfans.
I don't recommend this Book because...
it's flippant, graphic, and scatters all over the place.
