Summary of this Book...
Ashley Stockingdale is thirty one, and realizing she has a better chance of being hit by a bus than finding a husband. In her mad scramble to get the ring on her finger, she comes to realize that even more important is "to thine own self be true" (which, oddly, nets her three interested men!). As Ashley comes to terms with what God has planned for her, she recognizes her own self worth and finds joy in being single and "bus bait".
This type of Book is good for...
any woman who wants to read about love, relationships, etc and be uplifted at the same time. Also good for women who are trying to find God's plan for them in their lives.
I especially liked...
the way Ashley stands up to all the pressure around her. Most consistantly, she is encouraged to drink socially and resists, but she also retains her moral courage throughout today's society. I also like the fact that Ashley is not your typical "size six" heroine.
I didn't like...
the fact that I stayed up all night reading this. I was supposed to go to bed early!
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read the next one in the series, She's Out of Control. Which, oddly enough, I did!
This Book made me feel...
like laughing all at once.
The author of this Book...
did a great job of keeping me intrigued.
I recommend this Book because...
I liked the spiritual and uplifting dimensions, as well as the realistically-portrayed characters.
I don't recommend this Book because...
I suppose if you aren't Christian or interested in that lifestyle, you might not enjoy it; however, it manages to communicate without being pushy (like Ashley), so you just might!
Further Comments...
This was a great read, very funny. I went to the author's website to check her out.
