Summary of this Book...
Viscount Bridgerton, Anthony to friends of the Bridgerton clan, has decided it's time. It's time to marry, beget heirs and complete his list of responsibilities as head of the family. And it's important to do so this Season as he wasn't going to live much longer than eight more years. That's a certainty. It's been ordained. And finally, his wife to be should be pretty, smart, and a pleasant addition to the Bridgerton family. Especially as she would be raising Anthony's children alone after he was gone. So, Anthony chooses the most beautiful and desired debutante of the Season, Edwina Sheffield. She was everything he needed. Until he finds in order to win Edwina's hand, he must first pass inspection by Edwina's sister, Kate. Suddenly, Anthony is in a quagmire of confusion. He wishes to marry Edwina, where his emotions will not be engaged and Edwina therefor will not be terribly hurt upon his demise. But, there's something about Kate. He can't get her out of his mind. And so the entertainment ensues...
Further Comments... | ||
Expertly executed, I was thoroughly sucked into Kate and Anthony's romance. I laughed, cried and cheered for this pair. Julia Quinn's heroes are uniquely flawed, in comparison to the vast majority of the Regency Romance characters on the market currently. Each one is defined in a manner not to be confused with any other Alpha male on the prowl in 1815 London. Each book is not "just another Regency". A talented author indeed!
