Summary of this Book...
Lord Charles St. Austell is the 3rd member of the Bastion Club to go in search for a wife. He finds the prospective spouse near his home in Cornwall, a Miss Penelope Selbourne. She is up to her neck in international intrigue- something fishy is going on and she wants to figure it out. As does Charles.

The spy sub-plot is one of the best sub-plots Miss Laurens has written so far. Lots of possibilities and suspects. The solution is not let out of the bag instantly and there's lots of time for our future Mr. and Mrs. to enjoy themselves.

In bed- Stephanie Laurens writes spicy romances that leave little to the imagination in the bedroom. I greatly enjoy her love scenes, but some find them too much. This book did not disappoint. Charles and Penny enjoy many heated scenes where they find their true feelings for eachother.

If you love a spicy Historical Romance, you won't be disappointed.
Further Comments...
The Bastion Club series is based on a different premise than the popular Cynster series, and it behooves the reader to remember this. THe Cynsters, one and all, are running away from love and fate is going to hand it to them. The Bastion Club members are all looking for wives- so they are not denying the relationship that is brewing. And the Bastion Club is based more on the "mystery". The first 2 Bastion books were disappointing in that the mysteries were weak and a minor back drop to the bedroom. Not so with A Lady of His Own- the plot was more complicated and demanded the reader's attention. Not her best work- but the best of the Bastion Club so far.
