Summary of this Book...
Summary from the back cover: Otherland... Surrounded by secrecy, it is home to the wildest dreams and darkest nightmares. Incredible amounts of money have been lavished on it. The best minds of two generations have labored to build it. And somehow, bit by bit, it is claiming the Earth's most valuable resource--its children.
This type of Book is good for...
Anyone who likes not only science fiction, but fantasy and consipracy stories as well. Also--if you enjoyed The Matrix films, you'll love this book.
I especially liked... | ||
The complexity of not only the scenario, but of the characters as well.
I didn't like... | ||
The first... roughly 20 pages are a bit confusing. But plough through them--it's worth it!
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Immediately start the second book in the series--a direct continuation, not a sequel.
This Book made me feel...
Very satisfied. | ||
The author of this Book...
The author of this book is Tad Williams, who is better known for his fantasy novels.
I recommend this Book because...
It is an incredibly detailed read, deliberately paced, expertly plotted, and very satisfying.
I don't recommend this Book because...
Keep in mind that there are four books in this series. And these aren't sequels. It's all one big story (think Lord of the Rings and you'll know what I mean.
Further Comments... | ||
Keep in mind that there are four books in this series. And these aren't sequels. It's all one big story (think Lord of the Rings and you'll know what I mean). Each of the books are quite thick as well--but I found this to be a positive thing, as I didn't want to reach the end.
