Summary of this Book...
Libertarian political opinion on several aspects of the US. Unlike a lot of political opinion books, the things stated inside are pretty much timeless.
This type of Book is good for...
Helping to get the facts that you can't reach in modern, mainstream media, and helping you to form an educated opinion. It's always good to look at as many platforms as possible before jumping on to one.
I especially liked... | ||
That he said what he thought, political correctness to the wind. He says a lot of things in this book that many people don't say out of their own fear. It's one of those things people don't want to admit crossed their minds, don't want to admit they agree with, and so on. But it makes you face those things you don't want to say or admit you thought. He takes the hit that people on many levels are afraid to take for it.
I didn't like... | ||
Obviously, I don't agree with every single thing he says in the book. But I guess this isn't really a "I don't like that" sort of comment. I don't like reading books in this genre where I agree completely.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Tell other people to buy it. I found it to be a really good read, very informative, and it's one of those books that can make you mad, but make you nod in agreement in split seconds of each other.
The author of this Book...
Is very bold, and very strong minded in his opinions. Which makes the read a lot better because you can feel his passion for the topics he brings up just seeping out of every word. And whether you agree with him or not, you have to like the guy because he's so passionate.
I recommend this Book because...
It makes you think. It faces things people don't normally want to face. It tosses political correctness aside to show you the truth of the world around you. It opens your mind. And, most importantly, it gives you another platform to look at besides the two major political parties in the US.
I don't recommend this Book because...
Well, I wouldn't reccomend this book to someone who doesn't follow current events at least loosely. You need to know at least briefly what is going on and has been going on in the world to understand what he's saying and to form your own opinion.
Further Comments... | ||
This book reads amazingly smooth for this genre. And, like I said, I don't agree with every word. You won't, either. But it's a decent way to see the kinds of opinions going on out there. It's also a really great way to learn about a political party (Libertarian) that isn't as mainstream as the Democrats and Republicans. For those who think politically incorrect thoughts and don't like to voice them because you don't know what the kick back will be, this is also a good book to nod along to and smile.
