Summary of this Book...
A girl, trying to deal with the fallout of her parents divorce, gets seperated from her mother and brother in the woods. This book tells of her trials as she struggles to survive. Helping keep her from panic is her transistor radio. She uses it to listen to baseball games, focusing on her favorite player, Tom Gordon.
This type of Book is good for...
Good descriptions of woods and how easily one can become lost in them.
I especially liked... | ||
King develops his characters very well. It's probably his greatest strength as a writer.
I didn't like... | ||
This book, like most of King's works, was fairly easy to predict. With the exception of a couple minor plot twists, I had it figured out by the time I was a third of the way through the book.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
I did go and get my old compass from my camping gear to carry in the car for a while.
This Book made me feel...
Glad to be home in front of the fire with my feet up and a cup of hot chocolate beside me.
The author of this Book...
While his books are easy to figure out, he is none the less a master of the short suspense story!
I recommend this Book because...
If you like supernatural suspense, King's a very good read.
I don't recommend this Book because...
Some of the language is a bit raw and there is one sexual encounter between Trish's parents. It's not graphic, but it's definitely a sex scene.
Further Comments... | ||
King's been finding ways to scare us for years. He really hasn't changed at all.
