This type of Book is good for...
Anybody who liked or loved Tolkiens' Lord of the Rings series, The DragonLance series or the Harry Potter series should really like this book.
I especially liked... | ||
I really liked the way the author made you feel almost like you were right there beside the girl, sharing her labors and trials. It was hard to put the book down.
I didn't like... | ||
I wished the villians were a little more developed. It's hard to root against somebody for whom you can't develop a "feel". Just the fact that he's the "bad guy" isn't really enough.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
See what happened in both the kingdom and to the girl!
This Book made me feel...
Glad that once again, GOOD has triumphed over the forces of EVIL.
The author of this Book...
Shows promise and a good insight into human nature in the way we can reach deep inside ourselves to do what must be done despite the odds.
I recommend this Book because...
It's a good read and refreshing change from where only the "strong warrior type" can save the day.
I don't recommend this Book because...
There are a couple sections of the book where the story drags a bit. But, after reading this book, I really wanted to get my hands on the next book in the series. Alas, as of now, I am unaware of a second book!
Further Comments... | ||
Another book or not, Kristen Britain has written an excellant book overall. She has accomplished one thing many of us aspire to do: Publish a book! Some of the situations presented in this book could be a bit intense for children under the age of thirteen. It's a great read for any fantasy lover!
