Summary of this Book...
Somewhere in South America, a party is being held at the vice president's house, in honor of a powerful Japanese businessman's birthday. Roxane Cross, a world reknown soprano, is entertaining the international guests, and it seems like a perfect evening until everything goes horribly wrong. Now, in the midst of gun-wielding terrorists, amazing bonds evolve; and suddenly there is tenderness, friendship, and compassion in the face of death.
I especially liked... | ||
The wonderful mix of light comedy in the face of such tragic circumstances.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
I honestly wanted to cry, knowing this book was over. In a way, somehow, you want the terrorists to keep going on as they were.
The author of this Book...
The author, Ann Patchett, has written three other books bsides 'Bel Canto' and all have recieved awards. I can't wait to read them!
I recommend this Book because...
It's so amazing how the characters come to grip with the situation they find themselves in, and amazingly, life goes on.
Further Comments... | ||
Although not explicit, this book does, obviously, deal with some adult themes.
