Summary of this Book...
The Power of Kabbalah was written by Rabbi Yehuda Berg in order to bring ancient Jewish mysticism "to the public," so to speak. Rabbi Berg explains kabbalah in simple, easy-to-understand terms, and makes the reader want to keep turning the pages!
This type of Book is good for...
Jews and non-Jews alike! Rabbi Berg asserts that people of all backgrounds can learn about kabbalah and its benefits.
I especially liked... | ||
everything about this book! I'll be honest when I say I've thoroughly enjoyed all the books I've reviewed on writing.com, or I wouldn't have reviewed them. Rabbi Berg's book struck me differently in that it is completely positive, and focuses on helping people to think positively and to reach beyond their comfort zones, and dare to imagine the familiar in unfamiliar ways.
I didn't like... | ||
the feeling I had when I first picked up this book. There are some among the Jewry in the United States and around the world who feel that something specific to one religion or ethnicity should be kept that way. I wasn't sure I should have even dared to pick up the book, as if someone was watching me who would tell me I couldn't read it, or study kabbalah because I wasn't good enough to do so. As I started to read Rabbi Berg's book, though, that feeling dissolved. Rabbi Berg makes his readers truly feel as if it's all right to study something that's interesting.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
share my(somewhat novice) newfound knowledge about kabbalah with everyone I knew! I never imagined that familiar places, terms, people and events could be viewed in a "different," and sometimes unexplainable, light.
This Book made me feel...
at peace! It may take a while for anyone who reads this to be totally comfortable with the information discussed in the book, but whoever reads this will find some level of contentment.
The author of this Book...
is very down-to-earth and understanding; at least he appears this way through his writing. I feel Rabbi Berg is one of the most accepting and open-minded men I have ever come across, even though I haven't met him personally. He is not afraid to use humour in order to help his readers understand his literature and that's one of the qualities that makes his writing so appealing.
I recommend this Book because...
it has the potential to be life-changing, for the better, if one will accept that, and the power to give one a totally different positive outlook on life.
Further Comments... | ||
I will be honest and say that this book may not be for everyone to read. As I said in the aforementioned paragraphs, kabbalah is Jewish mysticism and it is a different way of thinking and looking at the world; it has the potential to lead readers into a different way of life if they are ready to accept a difference like that. If you are seeking a different way of thinking, or just some true positivity in your life, and are ready to examine your inner self and possibly change your life for the better, read this book!
