Summary of this DVD... | ||
In this romantic comedy, it's love at first sight when Johnathan (John Cusack) and Sarah (Kate Beckinsale) meet in a crowded New York City department store while out Christmas shopping. They spend the rest of the day together after strange coincidences seem to encourage it. Everything is wonderful until an unfortunate event leads Sarah to believe that fate is against them. They hit upon a plan that will show them they are truly meant to be together if, and only if, fate leads them back to one another.
This type of DVD is good for...
Anyone who likes a good love story, or at least a good love story movie style.
I especially liked... | ||
I love the idea that fate played such a huge role in bringing them together. Seemingly simple events wound together and kept you hoping that the two would eventually meet. I loved the relationships between the main characters and their best friends, the humor, and the dialogue. I thought the directing was good, the acting excellent, and the writing clever and compelling. I even loved the soundtrack--so much that I have it on CD as well.

The cast of this DVD... | ||
I am a Kate Beckinsale fan to begin with so I'm happy with any movie she stars in, but John Cusack is still as good as he ever was. Older now, but he's still got it--better than ever.

Further Comments... | ||
I LOVE this movie. This is my favorite movie. It finally moved "When Harry Met Sally" from its position as number one on my list. The cut scenes that come with most DVD's now, are fun to watch on this one. You can see why some scenes had to be cut, and appreciate them for what they are but understand, too, how the movie is stronger without those scenes. There is one cut that includes a "kokology" type of incident that I really liked, and even tried out on friends who hadn't seen the clip. It was extremely entertaining, interesting, and enlightening.
