Summary of this Book...
Amazon.com says: "In this delightful and illuminating look into a crucial but little-known 'hinge' of history, Thomas Cahill takes us to the 'island of saints and scholars,' the Ireland of St. Patrick and the Book of Kells." ♣♣♣ Essentially, what you're seeing is the tale of how the Irish maintained various works of literature, history and art during the dark ages and the strife that plagued those many years. Important elements of history would have been lost were it not for steadfast Irish scholars and clerics who envisioned the course history would take and had the forethought to preserve those works of particular importance.
This type of Book is good for...
Everyone. This is an important part of history that should not be forgotten. Most of the advancements of the moder world are attributed to either the Greeks, the Romans, the Arabs or the Egyptians. But if it were not for the steadfast preservation of the Irish, great portions of history would be gone forever.
