Summary of this Book...
In Lullaby, a reporter is assigned a series of articles on SIDS. He discovers, through the course of his work, that an African culling song (or lullaby) is the cause of death for the infants.

The song lodges in his brain and he inadvertently begins to kill people that bother him, by thinking the song at them.

He teams up with several other kooky characters and they set off on a quest to find the origin of the song, so that they can destroy it (and all copies of it) and save the world. Sort of.
I especially liked...
the quirky characters. Each character in this book had their own brand of weirdness, for different reasons.
I didn't like...
the parts that were overly gorey. Although, those parts were descriptive to the point that I could picture them quite well; so it was no fault of the author. I guess I just have an over-active imagination, and a queasy stomach.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
turn the page and have more of the story magically appear for me. It was a good enough read that I wasn't ready for it to end when it did.
The author of this Book...
has an interesting, jumpy writing style. It takes a while to get used to, but suits the story just fine.
I recommend this Book because...
of the characters and the storyline. If you like real characters and a story with twists in it, you'll probably enjoy this book.
I don't recommend this Book because...
of some excessive description when it came to gross things that happened in the story. It's not always fun to imagine certain things happening to you, and he writes it well enough that you tend to imagine things pretty well.
Further Comments...
If you can get into Chuck Palahniuk's writing style and enjoy a good mystery, morality, fantasy type story, then this book's for you.
