Summary of this DVD...
Tom is a pre-frosh who is up for the weekend to visit Port Chester Univerity. His host is James Andrews, aka Droz, who resides at The Pit. Droz is at first reluctant to show him around, but then decides to give him the low down. PCU is a weird place full of students who bathe in political correctness. Tom manages to tick off the entire campus unintentionally and is on the lam. Meanwhile, the president slaps The Pit with a huge damage bill. If it is not paid by the end of the semester, The Pit will be no more. Can they get through to the politically correct students and save their house? Can Tom dodge the angry mob of students and leave unscathed?
I especially liked...
This is a sweet DVD for the price. It has two versions of the film (full screen and letterbox), a small featurette, a music video by Mudhoney (which is a respectable take on Elvis Costello's "Pump It Up"), and commentary by director Hart Bochner and Jeremy Piven.
The cast of this DVD...
A good cast that features notable names such as the likable Piven, Megan Ward, Chris Young, Jon Favereau, Alex Desert, David Spade, Maddie Corman and Jessica Walter.
I recommend this DVD because...
It's not Animal House, but if you love campus comedies, this will do the trick.
Further Comments...
PCU was a bomb at the box office, but found a second life on video. Thanks to repeated viewings on Comedy Central, it has gained a cult following. There is even a website dedicated to the movie (and many of the actors wrote the webmaster with complements).

I like Bochner's commentary. The commentary is very imformative as Bochner gives the reason why it was filmed up in Canada, and trying to make it look like it wasn't filmed there, and the studio pressure to make it PG-13. Piven, on the other hand, is disrespectful. He takes a few cuts into Bochner, moans about improvisation, and is just plain whiny. Over and over, he said he loved the film, but had to be brutally honest. The DVD does justice to the movie, and even one scene was remastered.

I love this movie. If you want a good laugh, check it out.
