The unique plot that incorporated familiar elements of magical myths in intriguing tales. The stories are well planned to keep the reader guessing from beginning to end and so it was a thrill to read.

There are really only five Chrestomanci novels, I wish there were more.

Read it again and buy the rest of the series.

Diana Wynne Jones writes many fantasy books in a humorous style that keeps readers entertained. I first read The Ogre Downstairs and enjoyed the comedic plot twists, so decided to take a chance with her other novels. She was born and grew up in England where she avidly read as many books as she could find. She wrote her first complete book at age 17 because she had run out of books to read. She has written many fantasy tales, some in series format, the most popular appear to be the Chrestomanci series.

It's an excellent fantasy story that will not disappoint even Harry Potter aficionados.
