Summary of this Book...
An orphaned child, Maia, lives in a school in Mayfair, and is surrounded by plenty of friends, but feels it isnt the same as having a family to go home to at the holidays. Maia's lawyer turns up at the school one day with word of Maia's future - he has found some relatives that she can stay with....in the Amazon. Maia is very excited to be going to stay there with her aunt, uncle and twin cousins, but they only accepted her there because of the money she brings with her. The story follows Maia's journey up the Amamzon with her new governess, and her stay with her relatives, showing the friends she makes and how nasty her cousins can be.
I especially liked... | ||
How realistic this book was. The nearest city to Maia in the Amamzon was Maunas(or Manaus) which is an actual place. It also showed off the beauty of the Amazon, with being too over the top.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Take a journey there to see for myself what it is really like.
This Book made me feel...
In a word, amazed. | ||
The author of this Book...
Eva Ibbotsen wrote this fabulous book, and I believe she has done an excellent job in portraying what life would be like.
I recommend this Book because...
of its realness. | ||
