This type of DVD is good for...
People who enjoy alot of fighting, and enjoy a good old fashioned Roman film - basically people who enjoyed Sparticus. (And if you haven't seen that film you should)
I especially liked... | ||
The way that no one knows Maximus is an old Army General until the very end, and when he dies he gets more respect than the dead Emporer.
I didn't like... | ||
The fact that he died. | ||
The cast of this DVD... | ||
Well Russel Crowe put in an excellent performance as the Roman General come Gladiator, Maximus. The vindictive Emporer was played by Joaquin Phoenix and the person who trained the gladiators was played by the late Oliver Reed.
I recommend this DVD because...
It's one of them films that just could have happened in the Roman days, even though it was unlikely.
I don't recommend this DVD because...
You might not enjoy the length of some of the more boring bits.
Further Comments... | ||
I think this film would be a welcome addition to any collectors set.
