Summary of this CDs & Vinyl...
Metallica has always been known for its hardcore heavy metal music, and unfortunately, to me, this soundtrack sounds like it's trying to be hardcore. When you're Metallica, you should not have to try to do something that you've been really good at for over twenty years now. Personally, I like the old Metallica songs like Ride the Lightning, For Whom the Bell Tolls, One, and of course Enter Sandman. What made those songs unique was their variability in rhythm, perhaps starting off slow, then gaining speeding until you are headbanging. With this album there is a lot of repetition, one song may last for five minutes, but it will be the same rhythm over and over and over again. I felt like I had a record player and it kept skipping. Don't get me wrong, I like Metallica and always will, and to me this album is getting closer to the old stuff in terms of how heavy it is, but they need to cut the reduncy from now on or they'll get old, fast.
This type of CDs & Vinyl is good for...
It's good driving music.
I especially liked... | ||
Some songs are decent. Frantic, St. Anger, and purify all sounded good to me.
I didn't like... | ||
It just started to get redundant, too much repetition, not enough variability in rhythm.
The n/a of this CDs & Vinyl...
Metallica, if you don't know already, is just about the longest lasting hard rock band around. Most of their albums have gone platinum. They are the gods of this music genre.
I recommend this CDs & Vinyl because...
For any hardcore Metallica fan, you got to listen to this. It is very different from S&M, garage, or the loads, trying to revert back to an older sound.
Further Comments... | ||
It comes with a fairly entertaining DVD.
