Summary of this DVD... | ||
Based on the novel The Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, this movie is a powerful expression of human fear and mortality. The movie is about a secret mission during the Vietnam War to take out a corrupt official. Throughout the mission, the clear impact that death and war have on the human psyche is a powerful theme, along with the conflict of civilized thinking verses a more savage way of life. Apocalypse Now Redux is the re-release of the original, with video and audio enhancement and some extra filmed scenes.
I especially liked... | ||
The visuals of the movie. The colors, scenery, and camera angles truly set the mood and expression in it and allowed for the story to seem that much more real.
This DVD made me feel...
Human. If you are able to understand the messages that exist in the movie and the book, then you are able to understand your humanity a little more. War and death have that kind of effect.
The cast of this DVD... | ||
Includes: Martin Sheen and Marlon Brando as the major parts.
Further Comments... | ||
I had used the book and the movie as my final english paper subject for high school. Though my review of this product may be short as I am not much of a product reviewer, this DVD is not something you will forget easily after viewing. There is much to enjoy from this DVD, whether you like a good war movie, a philosophical piece, or enjoy the artistic endeavors of movie making. All in all, it is a clear classic.
